About

Practical perspectives, written plainly.

Stewart Consulting is an independent publishing platform for briefings on cloud, infrastructure, and the business of technology.

The most useful technical writing is short, honest about trade-offs, and free of vendor spin. That's the bar this site aims for.

This is a place to think out loud — to take the decisions that come up in real architecture and operations work and write them down clearly enough to be useful to someone else facing the same choice. Each briefing is meant to stand on its own: a specific problem, the options, the trade-offs, and a recommendation you can disagree with.

Who's writing

I'm Ben Stewart, a technology professional focused on enterprise infrastructure and cloud. I write here in a personal capacity, sharing perspectives drawn from hands-on work — the kind of practical detail that rarely makes it into a glossy datasheet.

What you'll find — and what you won't

You'll find concise briefings, real examples, and the occasional opinion. You won't find a services menu, rate cards, or a sales pitch. This site exists to share knowledge and build a body of work, not to sell an engagement.

What I write about

Cloud platforms

Azure and AWS — capabilities, costs, and the realities of operating on them.

Infrastructure

Networking, DNS, hosting, and the foundations beneath the application.

IT operations

Reliability, cost discipline, and the day-two decisions that compound.

Technology strategy

Tying the technical choice back to the business outcome.
